Marlsgate Plantation

Marlsgate Plantation is located fourteen miles southeast of Little Rock, Arkansas. It is cooled by the breezes off of nearby Bearskin Lake, and shaded by huge pecan trees. It is home to David Paul Garner Jr. and family and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has received the Heart of Arkansas Award for outstanding efforts in promoting tourism in Arkansas.
Marlsgate contains thirty-two rooms on its three floors. It houses over ten thousand square feet of living space that includes a drawing room, dining room, music room, solarium, master bedroom, plantation office, sitting rooms, studies, and a kitchen and service wing. The outside of Marlsgate is graced with brick Ionic columns over 40 feet in height (Karpf).
