Here is a picture of Arthur Stillwell, born in Rochester, New York, but a Kansas native. Having a childhood love for railroads, he went west when he was only twenty-six years old. After seeing Kansas City's need for transport to and from the ports along the Gulf of Mexico, he started work on a railroad in 1886, which he finished in 1897. (Holleman)
