The Brooks and Baxter War

In 1874, Reconstruction had drawn to a close, and power struggles were fought over the weakened Arkansas' government. Two powerful and influential political leaders claimed rightful governership, and their dispute erupted into a bloody skirmish among Arkansas' residents. The matter was finally settled by President Ulysses S Grant, and order was restored.
