Many changes had taken place between 1959 and 1982. Plum Bayou had thinned greatly, the cypress brakes to the northeast had been thinned considerably, and half of them removed entirely. A right-of-way for a power line had also been constructed by this time, running southwest-northeast and is most visible in section 6 of this map as it crosses the extreme southeastern corner of the plantation and passes through a dense cypress grove.
